The water pump in Guajoyo

Last year, the Austin committee supported the community of El Guajoyo with the installation of a pump for the well that Agua Viva previously built for them.
Guajoyo has struggled with water scarcity. Its water source has been affected by drought and its vulnerability to pollution. The flow of the river has also decreased. The wells will give people in the community more access to water.
CRIPDES San Vicente has accompanied them in this process and even facilitated an exchange with another community that was a beneficiary of water projects in the past so that they could share their experience.
On February 25, a visit was finally received from the company sent by DEUSEM to test the pump and verify that it works properly.
It is expected that in 20 days access to water will be permanent.
El año pasado, el comité de Austin apoyó a la comunidad de El Guajoyo con la instalación de una bomba para el pozo que anteriormente les hiciera la organización Agua Viva.
Guajoyo ha luchado ya con la escasez de agua. Su fuente de agua se ha visto afectada por la sequía y por su vulnerabilidad a la contaminación. El caudal del río también ha bajado. Estos pozos le darán más acceso al agua a las personas que habitan la comunidad.
CRIPDES San Vicente les ha acompañado en este proceso y hasta facilitó un intercambio con otra comunidad que fue beneficiaria de los proyectos de agua para que compartieran su experiencia.
El 25 de febrero finalmente se recibió la visita de la empresa enviada por DEUSEM para probar la bomba y verificar que funciona adecuadamente.
Se espera que en 20 días el acceso al agua será permanente.
