Testimonies – Sumpul River massacre / Testimonios de la masacre del Sumpul

Yesterday the association Martirs of Sumpul presented a book in which they have gathered testimonies of survivors of the massacre that took place on may 13th and 14th of 1980.
Ana Deysi Garcia, member of the team that created the book, shared with Efe, that “this kind of work is needed for survivors because in this country there has not been a systematic process of reparation for victims of war”.
The event also had the participation of people that shared stories of their relatives and friends that were killed then and whose murders are still in impunity.
Ayer, la asociación Mártires del Sumpul presentó un libro en el que recopilan testimonios de sobrevivientes de la masacre que se llevó a cabo el 13 y 14 de mayo de 1980.
Ana Deysi García, miembro del equipo gestor para la elaboración del libro, señaló a Efe que ‘este tipo de trabajos son necesarios para las personas sobrevivientes porque en el país no ha habido un proceso sistemático para la reparación de las víctimas de la guerra’. (X)
En el evento, se contó con la participación de personas que compartieron relatos sobre sus familiares y amigos que fueron asesinados entonces y que por cuyos asesinatos aún no han encontrado justicia.
