U.S.-El Salvador Sister Cities is excited to invite you to our 2026 National Gathering, taking place in Philadelphia on October 10–11, 2026.

Every year, we come together for our much-anticipated National Gathering, bringing representatives from across our network together with longtime leaders and members of our circles. It is a space to share experiences, celebrate our achievements, reflect on the challenges we face as a movement, and envision the future of our work together.

This year’s gathering is especially meaningful as we celebrate our 40th anniversary of solidarity and accompaniment with rural communities in El Salvador. Building on the theme of our 2026 Speaking Tour, we will gather around the theme:

“Keeping Our Movement Alive: 40 Years of Solidarity and Resistance”

Together, we will reflect on what 40 years of solidarity and accompaniment have meant to our communities and our movement, while looking ahead to how we can continue building and sustaining this work for the next 40 years.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic and the rapid growth of virtual organizing and technology, our organization adapted to new ways of connecting. Our last in-person National Gathering took place in 2019, and gatherings since then have been held online. For this reason, we are especially excited to come together in person for the first time in seven years!

We hope you can join us in Philadelphia for this special opportunity to reconnect, celebrate our history, strengthen our movement, and imagine the next chapter of our shared work.

iudades Hermanas El Salvador-Estados Unidos se complace en invitarles a nuestro Encuentro Nacional 2026, que se llevará a cabo en Philadelphia los días 10 y 11 de octubre de 2026.

Cada año celebramos nuestro esperado Encuentro Nacional, un espacio que reúne a representantes de los diferentes círculos de nuestra red, así como a líderes y miembros históricos del movimiento. Es una oportunidad para compartir experiencias, celebrar nuestros logros, reflexionar sobre los desafíos que enfrentamos como red y mirar juntos hacia el futuro.

Este año, nuestro encuentro tiene un significado aún más especial, ya que celebramos 40 años de solidaridad y acompañamiento con las comunidades rurales de El Salvador. Retomando el tema de nuestra Gira de Conferencias 2026, nos reuniremos bajo el lema:

“Manteniendo vivo nuestro movimiento: 40 años de solidaridad y resistencia”

Durante el encuentro, reflexionaremos sobre lo que han significado estos 40 años de solidaridad y acompañamiento para nuestras comunidades y nuestro movimiento, y conversaremos sobre cómo podemos fortalecer y sostener nuestro trabajo durante los próximos 40 años.

Después de la pandemia y con el crecimiento de las herramientas de organización y comunicación virtual, nuestra organización tuvo que adaptarse a nuevas formas de mantenernos conectados. Nuestro último Encuentro Nacional presencial se realizó en 2019, y desde entonces los encuentros se han llevado a cabo de manera virtual. Por esta razón, estamos especialmente emocionados de volver a encontrarnos presencialmente por primera vez en siete años.

Esperamos contar con su presencia en Philadelphia para celebrar nuestra historia, reconectarnos, fortalecer nuestro movimiento y construir juntos el próximo capítulo de nuestro trabajo.
