The members of the Guajoyo security committee who were arrested on Saturday, April 11, are now free.

The young men were on their shifts at the entrance of the community, controlling access and doing sanitation work when they were captured by the police. All group members work voluntarily rotating during part of the day and all night.

The police officers who captured them were from Usulután and Tecoluca.

Due to the limitations of the pandemic, only their parents went to visit them to bring them food. The community board asked for contributions from the rest of the community to help financially with this.

The community joined in outrage over the publications that featured the young men as criminals.

Administrative detentions cannot exceed 72 hours, but the weekends are not considered as business days.

Los integrantes del comité de seguridad de Guajoyo que fueron detenidos el día sábado 11 de abril ya se encuentran en libertad.

Los jóvenes se encontraban en la pluma a la entrada de la comunidad, controlando el ingreso y haciendo labores de sanitización cuando fueron capturados. El grupo trabaja voluntariamente y se rotan para cumplir las tareas parte del día y toda la noche.

Los policías que hicieron las capturas eran de Usulután y Tecoluca. 

Por las limitaciones de la pandemia, solo los padres salían a visitarlos y a llevarles comida. La directiva pidió colaboración a los miembros de la comunidad para apoyar financieramente con esto.

La comunidad se unió ante la indignación por las publicaciones que presentaban a los jóvenes como delincuentes.

Las detenciones administrativas no pueden exceder las 72 horas, pero el fin de semana no es tomado en cuenta por no ser días hábiles.
