CRIPDES CALLS ON THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE ATTACKS

CRIPDES has released the following statement to call on the international community, social movement and friends to be alert of possible attacks after police officers searched one of its offices in Aguilares on March 30th.

CRIPDES denounces police harassment and intervention in Aguilares office.

To the national and international community, organizations of the social movement, friends, we make public the facts of intervention and harassment that occurred on Thursday, March 30 of this year, where elements of the National Civil Police showed up at the offices of UCRES in the municipality of Aguilares.

The intervention was justified by the police officers after an alleged “anonymous complaint” in which it was pointed out that “terrorists” were meeting in our facilities. However, no search warrant was shown.

Since our organization has nothing illegal to hide, because all our actions, programs and projects are transparent and legal and are for the benefit of the families in rural communities with whom we have worked for 38 years, the police officers were given access and questioned one of our technicians for about 45 minutes.

Among the questions they asked our technician were the commemoration of one of our martyrs, Father Rutilio Grande, the priests that organized the event, institutions and people involved in the commemoration activities, they asked who are financiers of the scholarship program that for years we have benefited young people from rural communities, description of the activities we carry out with young people, among other questions.

The police officers raided the offices of UCRES, which is also our home, without showing any warrant for such intervention and took pictures of the list of activities, to the institutional car, offices and personal documents of the technician who was alone in the office.  We are concerned and we hold the National Civil Police responsible for any situation that may happen to our colleague and technician and to our house.

In the days before and after this intervention, unknown vehicles have been seen parked in front of the facilities, spying on UCRES collaborators.

We communicate to the national and international community that we have completed a year of living under a Regime of Exception imposed by the current government of President Bukele and is used to persecute, intimidate and punish human rights defenders, organizations and institutions that defend human rights.

CRIPDES is a historical organization that has been committed to the defense of human rights and we are being violated by political, economic and social persecution.

In view of this situation, we ask you to inform the corresponding instances of international support and solidarity in order to prevent and be aware of any attack on our institution and our collaborators.

CRIPDES ha presentado el siguiente pronunciamiento para hacer un llamado a la comunidad internacional, al movimiento social y a las amigos y amigas que estén alerta de posibles ataques después del allanamiento en una de sus oficinas en Aguilares 

CRIPDES denunciamos acoso e intervención por parte de la policía en las instalaciones de una de nuestras sedes en Aguilares.

A la comunidad nacional e internacional, organizaciones del movimiento social, amigos y amigas, hacemos del conocimiento público los hechos de intervención y acoso sucedidos el jueves 30 de marzo del presente año, donde se presentaron elementos de la Policía Nacional Civil en las oficinas de UCRES en el municipio de Aguilares.

La intervención fue justificada por los agentes policiales tras una supuesta “denuncia anónima” en la que se nos señala que en nuestras instalaciones se reúnen “terroristas”. Sin embargo, no se mostró ninguna orden de registro.

En vista que nuestra organización no tiene nada ilegal que esconder, porque todas nuestras acciones, programas y proyectos son transparentes y legales y van en beneficio de las familias de comunidades rurales con quienes hemos trabajado por 38 años, se les brindó el acceso a los agentes policiales quienes interrogaron por un promedio de 45 minutos a una de nuestras técnicas.

Entre las interrogantes que realizaron a nuestra técnica se destaca la conmemoración de uno de nuestros mártires Padre Rutilio Grande, los sacerdotes, instituciones y personas involucrados en las actividades de conmemoración, financistas del programa de becas que por años hemos beneficiado a jóvenes de las comunidades rurales, descripción de las actividades que realizamos con los jóvenes, entre otras interrogantes.

Los agentes policiales allanaron las oficinas de UCRES, que también es nuestra morada, sin mostrar ninguna orden para dicha intervención y se dedicaron a tomar fotografías al listado de actividades, al carro institucional, oficinas y documentos personales de la técnica que se encontraba sola en las oficinas.  Por lo que nos encontramos preocupados y responsabilizamos a la Policía Nacional Civil por cualquier situación que pueda pasarle a nuestra compañera y técnica y a nuestra morada.

En los días previos y posteriores a esta intervención se han visto vehículos desconocidos estacionados frente a las instalaciones cumpliendo una labor de espionaje, acosando así a los colaboradores de UCRES.

A la comunidad nacional e internacional les comunicamos que hemos cumplido un año de vivir bajo un Régimen de Excepción impuesto por el  actual gobierno del presidente Bukele y es aprovechado para perseguir, amedrentar y castigar a personas defensoras de derechos humanos, organizaciones e institución que defendemos los derechos humanos,

CRIPDES somos una organización histórica que ha estado comprometida en la defensa de los derechos humanos y estamos siendo vulnerados por una persecución política, económica y social.

Ante esta situación pedimos difundir en las instancias correspondientes de apoyo y solidaridad internacional para prevenir y estar pendientes ante cualquier atentado a nuestra institución y a nuestros colaboradores.
