Actualización del CCR / Update from the CCR – Chalatenango 21.4.20

Until April 21, Chalatenango is the only department with no positive cases of CORONAVIRUS. Since quarantine was decreed on March 21, 90% of the population has respected it, staying home, and going out only for necessary food or health issues.
Due to the bonus that the government assigned to low-income families, beneficiaries went to bank agencies to withdraw it. In these agencies there were big crowds. It is feared that there might be infections coming from there that have yet to develop.
The Municipalities organized to deliver a food basket, gel alcohol and face masks to the families of their municipalities. They have also advised people to stay at home. They have implemented sanitation procedures at the main entrance of each municipality and an entrance and exit verification control, as well. There are volunteers who take turns every day, accompanied by the National Civil Police (PNC) and the Ministry of Health (MINSAL).
In some of the Municipalities, cases of violation of Human Rights and intimidation by the Armed Forces have been reported.
The CCR has been working sporadically, responding to the most urgent necessities. We made a census of families with limited economic resources who are affected the most by this pandemic. Within the regions that CCR works, according to the analysis, communities of Chalatenango (zone 3, according to the geographic division that CCR makes) and communities of San Francisco Morazán (zone 4) were identified. 160 baskets will be distributed in these communities tomorrow.

Hasta el día 21 de abril, Chalatenango es el único departamento que aún no presenta casos positivos de CORONAVIRUS. Desde que se decretó cuarentena el 21 de marzo, 90% de la población la ha respetado, quedándose en casa y saliendo específicamente solo por cuestiones necesarias de alimentación o medicamentos.
Debido al bono que el gobierno asignó a las familias de escasos recursos, la gente beneficiaria salió a las agencias bancarias para retirarlo. En estas agencias hubo mucha aglomeración y se teme que de ahí salgan contagios que aún no se han desarrollado.
Las Municipalidades se organizaron para entregar una canasta de alimentos, alcohol gel y mascarillas a las familias de sus municipios. También han hecho mucha campaña para que la gente se quede en casa. Han implementado el procedimiento de sanitización en la entrada principal de cada municipio y un control de verificación de entrada y salida. Hay voluntarios que se turnan para cada jornada diaria acompañados de la policía nacional civil (PNC) y Ministerio de Salud (MINSAL).
En algunos de los Municipios se han reportado casos de violación de Derechos Humanos e intimidación por parte de la Fuerza Armada.
Como CCR se ha estado trabajando eventualmente, dando respuesta a los trámites más urgentes, se hizo un censo de las familias de escasos recursos económicos que están siendo más afectadas por esta pandemia. Dentro de las regiones que trabaja CCR, según el análisis, se identifican comunidades de Chalatenango (zona 3, según la división geográfica que hace CCR) y comunidades de San Francisco Morazán (zona 4). 160 canastas serán distribuidas en estas comunidades el día de mañana.
