San Vicente update / Actualización de San Vicente – 23-4-20

As previously reported, the CRIPDES San Vicente team has continued to work to help families in the area during the COVID19 pandemic.
The acting coordinator, Marixa Amaya, shares that on Tuesday and Wednesday food was distributed among some families identified in the census made by the CRIPDES in coordination with local community boards (ADESCOS). In the community of Las Anonas, some 17 families were benefited. Other communities benefited were Santa Marta, Nueva Concepción, El Porvenir, San Bartolo and San Carlos, among others. People were very happy with their food pack and hygiene kit.
Marixa also shares that almost all the communities have organized themselves to have a retention point where car tires and / or people’s hands are disinfected. Although La Sabana does not have a control point, it is not allowing strangers to enter.
CRIPDES has asked for the help of several of its cooperators and allies in order to respond to this urgent need (which still continues).
Como reportamos anteriormente, el equipo de CRIPDES San Vicente ha continuado trabajando para ayudar a familias de la zona durante la pandemia.
La coordinadora en funciones, Marixa Amaya, comenta que el martes y miércoles se repartieron víveres para algunas familias identificadas en el censo de la misma organización en coordinación con las ADESCOS. En la comunidad Las Anonas se benefició a unas 17 familias. Otras comunidades beneficiadas fueron Santa Marta, Nueva Concepción, El Porvenir, San Bartolo y San Carlos, entre otras. La gente se mostró muy contenta con su paquete de alimentos y kit de higiene.
Marixa también comparte que casi todas las comunidades se han organizado por sí mismas para tener un punto de retención en donde se desinfectan las llantas de los automóviles y/o las manos de las personas. La Sabana, aunque no tiene punto de control, no está permitiendo el ingreso de extraños.
CRIPDES ha pedido la ayuda de varios de sus cooperantes y aliados para poder responder a esta necesidad urgente (que aún continúa).
