Alfredo López facilitando la asamblea

Last friday, on October 5th, Alfredo López facilitated the assembly of scholarship recipients who are supported in their studies thanks to the contributions of the Sister Cities’ committees. The topic developed during the assembly was “Benefits and danger of technology”; but the most interesting was listening the assignment they got from the previous meeting. They were told to ask their parents what they thought about the initiatives to privatize water in El Salvador. In the video below, you’ll be able to hear some of those opinions.

It was so inspiring to see those young women and men that keep on studying despite the hardships they face. It was even more emotional to hear about the fear of those who are about to graduate from high school and are about to start another stage in their lives, that could mean leaving their houses, their families or getting a job elsewhere in order to keep on studying.

Thanks to the US committees for supporting young people in the rural areas of El Salvador!

Próximos bachilleres / Soon-to-be graduates
