A delegation focused on migration!

“Those of us from Bangor who participated in a similar immigration-focused delegation last year found some of our thinking about the issues re-arranged by our experience. It also prepared us to be able to offer with confidence multiple presentations on the immigration crisis that a variety of community groups have found compelling.   We urge folks to go!”

We are preparing a new delegation to El Salvador.

This one is devoted solely to the issue of migration.

From July 8th – 16th, we will coordinate a delegation that willafford you information and experiences that will equip you, on return, to help our neighbors see past the prevailing myths depicting migrants as dangerous “illegals”.

We will explore the realities which impel Salvadorans to migrate, as well as the dangers to which those deported are exposed on their return.

This delegation will help place the current situation in the context of U.S. policies which have helped create the conditions that drive this migration.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

We will meet with several NGOs, grassroots organizations, local experts and, of course, our Salvadoran brothers and sisters who will be kind enough to share their relatives’ and their own experiences.  We invite you to come and take this chance to hear their stories on their own terms.

WHAT’S THE COST?

Approximately 850 dollars (airfare not included)
