Happy 34th anniversary, CRIPDES – Feliz aniversario 34, CRIPDES

The last Madison delegation sent the following regards to Miriam and Bernardo from CRIPDES, on their 34th anniversary:

Congratulations CRIPDES on your 34^th anniversary of your amazing work transforming communities and organizing to build the power of the people.  I was so honored to meet with your leaders Bernardo and Miriam to learn about the life-altering work you have been doing all of these years (and to play the American card game “SPOONS” with them).  It is amazing and inspiring that even in the midst of incredible challenges, CRIPDES keeps doing the important work to empower individuals and 350+ communities while bringing needed infrastructure and services.  I know you will keep doing this important work for many more years!  Congratulations!

Since returning from our visit to El Salvador, I constantly find myself reflecting on the determination and perseverance shown by every CRIPDES partner. The work you are doing to empower and organize is an invaluable beacon of hope for all who struggle. Bernardo and Miriam, you were vital in helping us understand both the history and present position of El Salvador and I enjoyed our time with you very much. Thank you for what you do, and what you will continue to do for the betterment of El Salvadorans and the world. Happy Birthday!

You have so much to celebrate at CRIPDES. Of your 34 years, I only spent a far-too-short week witnessing and experiencing your incredible work. If you’ve inspired anyone else as much as you have myself (and I’m sure you have), the lives you’ve touched are forever changed. The stories we shared together are now being told here in Wisconsin, reverberating your impact further and further. Here’s to another 34 years of solidarity and strength.

A note of thanks with admiration to all of our compxs of CRIPDES for your incredible work for 34 years in organizing to change both economic and social structures.  We in the US are proud and humbled by your example that helps us all to build a more just and humane society.  We are honored to be your sistering partners and look forward to being with you for many years in the future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for accompanying us on our group journey in June as leaders in an organized social movement and for all the years you have been with Sister Cities.  You are an inspiration that continues to give us all hope!

Tuve el placer y honor de aprender un poco de la gran labor que realizan en El Salvador. Realmente es un ejemplo para todos a seguir. La lucha por la justicia social que realizan es incomparable.
