Estela’s Farewell Letter

Lovely members of U.S.-El Salvador Sister Cities,

I’d like to let you know that i’m leaving my position as SC El Salvador Co-Coordinator. I have loved working for Sister Cities so much! I’m leaving the position because I’m moving to Peru to live with my husband, but I´m bringing Sister Cities and CRIPDES in my heart.

Thank you so much for all the support and encouragement you have provided me during my time at Sister Cities.

As a Salvadoran it was a significant experience for me. I admire the SC solidarity model very much! I loved being your channel for 2 and a half years in your remarkable work, accompaniment and friendship with CRIPDES, your sistered communities and your partners.

I grew up seeing your delegations and mutual love with communities in Chalatenango, and I was able to enjoy the same by working with all the regions in El Salvador and committees in U.S. Even during difficult times, I have felt so in love with this work and so thankful for your presence in El Salvador.

Thank you all because I always felt appreciated and valued, because you always opened your homes and your lives to me.

I’m leaving this job pleased with myself because I always gave 100% of me. But at the same time, I’m so glad with the new staff generation of Sister Cities. They will give more energy, enthusiasm and creativity to the organization.

Please keep in touch. I can be reached at adacrid.garcia@gmail.com

Again, thank you so much for everything! It was a pleasure working with you. Knowing people like you make me feel hopeful that a better world is possible! Your volunteer work with Sister Cities has a significant impact in El Salvador and in your local towns.

Please keep motivated and let the staff know how they can help you to continue this great project. Your contribution lets staff accompany communities and CRIPDES regions, support committees, facilitate communication and cultural exchange, provide support to common struggles around metallic mining, military intervention, and immigration rights among others in El Salvador and U.S. If you want to make a special donation to the SC Network to support staff please go here.

In solidarity from El Salvador and soon from Peru,

Estela
