Sister Cities is excited to announce our 2026 Speaking Tour, a very special tour as we celebrate 40 years of solidarity and accompaniment alongside rural communities in El Salvador.

Over these four decades, we have built a shared history of resistance, organizing, struggle, and solidarity between communities and peoples. This anniversary is an opportunity to look back and honor where our movement began, while also reflecting on how we can keep our movement alive and continue building relationships of solidarity for generations to come.

Under the theme “Keeping Our Movement Alive: 40 Years of Solidarity and Resistance,” our Speaking Tour will be an opportunity to share the history of Sister Cities, our work of accompaniment, and the relationship we have built over the years with our sister organization, CRIPDES.

Joining us on the tour will be Marina Díaz, a community organizer, leader, and longtime CRIPDES compañera, along with representatives from our Sister Cities staff in El Salvador and the United States. Together, we will share experiences of community organizing, grassroots work in rural communities, and the importance of keeping international solidarity alive.

Manteniendo vivo nuestro movimiento: 40 años de solidaridad y resistencia

Ciudades Hermanas se complace en anunciar su Speaking Tour 2026, una gira muy especial en la que celebramos 40 años de solidaridad y acompañamiento junto a las comunidades rurales de El Salvador.

Durante estas cuatro décadas, hemos construido una historia compartida de resistencia, organización, lucha y solidaridad entre pueblos. Este aniversario es una oportunidad para mirar hacia atrás, recordar nuestros inicios y, al mismo tiempo, reflexionar sobre cómo mantener vivo nuestro movimiento y continuar construyendo relaciones de solidaridad para las próximas generaciones.

Bajo el título “Mantener vivo nuestro movimiento: 40 años de solidaridad y resistencia”, nuestra gira de conferencias será un espacio para compartir la historia de Ciudades Hermanas, nuestro trabajo de acompañamiento y la relación que hemos construido a lo largo de los años con nuestra organización hermana, CRIPDES.

Durante la gira contaremos con la participación de Marina Díaz, organizadora comunitaria, líder y compañera histórica de CRIPDES, junto con representantes de nuestro equipo de Ciudades Hermanas en El Salvador y Estados Unidos. Juntos compartiremos experiencias sobre el trabajo comunitario, la organización desde las comunidades rurales y la importancia de mantener viva la solidaridad internacional.
