MIGRATION WORKING GROUP

The Migration Committee of US El Salvador Sister Cities recognizes that there are strong bonds between our allies in El Salvador and their relatives and friends living in the US. Many Salvadorans have sought refuge in the US over the past 40 years. The migration committee  participates in national efforts to promote just immigration policies that recognize the dignity and human rights of Salvadorans and others who have experienced forced migration. We oppose the harsh treatment of people who come to the US border seeking safety and we demand that all people who have resettled in this country be treated fairly. We promote just and humane immigration policies by participating in national coalitions and encouraging our supporters to act on behalf of migrants in the US.
