From our book “Aquí estamos” published in 2011:

“After the Peace Accords our sister city continued to support us. They helped us get the deeds to the land where our community is built. Today they are helping us confront the threat of mineral mining. We know that our sister city is doing advocacy in the US with Congresspeople and other government officials to help us stop mining, which is just a new kind of threat to our lives. It’s a war but in a different way. Their support has helped us to continue to live and thrive here in Las Flores“.
